NOW ACCEPTING DEPOSITS

The deposit list is ordered by when the deposits were received. You are welcome to be on more than one deposit list. By being on the deposit list you will be notified FIRST when a litter is bred via email. You will then get the opportunity to be added to that wait list. Add the end of that week families will be added to the wait list in order of when their deposit was received. After that, families will be added to the list on a first come first serve basis. When the litter is born, we will let them families know if a puppy will be available to them or not. Families remain on the general deposit list until they are matched with their puppy.

Adopting Golden Mountain Doodles | What to Know

We know that adopting a new member of your family is a big decision. That's why we're here to answer your questions and give you all the information and tips you could ever need, whether it be about the process of adopting your Golden Mountain Doodle, doodle puppy training, or about the breed itself.

What is a Golden Mountain Doodle?

Great question! A Golden Mountain Doodle is a gorgeous hybrid breed of a poodle, Bernese mountain dog, and golden retriever. They're known for their wavy and curly coats of hair.

Don't let the name fool you though. These special dogs can have many different hair colors, including gold, black, red, cream, and white.

They even have different coat patterns, including solid, parti, phantom, sable, brindle, and tri-colored. At a standard size, they're similarly sized to your typical golden retriever, weighing between 50 and 90 pounds and about as tall as 2 feet to their shoulder.

A favorite feature of the Golden Mountain Doodle for many is that they don't shed nearly as much as other dog breeds. This is especially true if you select us as your SC Doodle Breeder that offers different generations of the breed.

They're beloved in part for the sweet nature. They're incredibly affectionate, kind-hearted, and relaxed, making them a perfect fit for any family. They love being social and silly, but they're also among the smartest dog breeds in the world. Their life expectancy averages at about 10 to 15 years, we always ensure they're in the best health from the moment they're born.

All these qualities make them ideal service or therapy dogs, with many currently comforting and helping people in schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and rehab facilities across the country.

The Adoption Process

Our adoption process is a bit different than other breeders you'd find in South Carolina and beyond. Before adoption, our puppies are in a socialization program called puppy culture. This program, along with spending the first 6-8 weeks with their mother, ensures that they'll be well adjusted to the world and with other dogs.

We take the socialization and emotional well-being of our puppies very seriously, as well as their physical health with testing and vet check-ups.

Another thing that makes our process different than most is that we like to pair our clients with their new dogs, like matchmakers! We have you fill out an application so we can learn more about you, such as whether or not you live with young kids, your activity level, what you're hoping a new dog will add to your family, etc.

Once a litter of doodle puppies is six weeks old, we invite you to a picking party at our facility. Here, you can visit with the puppies, learn more about them, ask questions, and then rank the puppies in order of which you'd like to take home the most.

We'll be there to offer suggestions about which puppy may be the best match for you and your family (and also offer a digital version where we send you videos of the puppies if you can't attend in person).

In the end, you're far more likely to have a puppy that suits your dynamic and preferences than with other dog breeders. Not all puppies are the same, so why should we treat them like they are?

From there, we will use your deposit order and preferences to match the puppies to their new owners and contact you to confirm the adoption.

Then you'll sign a puppy contract, which can be found HERE. We'll provide ground transportation to anywhere within a 4-hour drive. Live further away? No problem. We have our staff members fly with puppies all the time, and our clients just have to meet us at the airport.

You Have a Golden Mountain Doodle Puppy! What Now?

Raising and training a Golden Mountain Doodle puppy doesn't require any out of the ordinary preparations on your part, but there are steps you should take to ensure that your home is puppy proof.

Given the curious nature of these dogs, you'll want to hide away things like cleaning supplies or valuables that could be within their reach. As puppies, they'll be eager to explore and play with half the objects they find, so it's better to keep things you don't want to be chewed on a higher shelf! It’s important to remember that puppies explore the world with their noses and mouths!

We recommend that you begin training your new puppy as early as you can.

The sooner you begin teaching them basic commands, manners, and potty-training, the easier it'll be. You should also have toys ready for them when they get home. They're a relaxed breed, but they still love to play, especially as puppies. Toys will help keep them entertained and allow them to blow off steam, so they're not racing around the house all day.

Interested in training programs? Our team here at JennaLee Doodles offers both 3-week, 6-week and 12-week training programs that along with intensive training, include healthcare, grooming, and go-home items like a blanket, leash, toy, and more! We know it isn't always easy training puppies of any breed, so we're happy to provide a service that takes the stress away.
